Barrier-free Accessible Vodcasts
The Barrier-free Accessible Vodcasts feed will deliver short video clips on a wide variety of topics related to accessible information technology.
Vodcasts are video clips designed to play on a small portable device. At present, most of these devices are not capable of working with the SMIL or SAMI technology used online to synchronize text of audio descriptions with video. The Vodcasts here are using vector graphics to provide captions for the video so that users who are deaf can understand the video just as they do with captioning on a television set.
While Vodcasts can be played on a computer using the main multimedia players everyone has on their computer, they are intended to play on a hand-held portable device. This device must be able to play MP4 and similar multimedia content.
